2pm ET (11am PT) Reflection
You will begin to explore racial justice from an awake posture. We want everyone to make decisions from this position.

Understanding the social and historical contexts that support racism is central to identifying your activism. Being aware of the social and racial context is a vital part of being anti-racist and offers opportunities for a more accurate analysis of today’s social problems and your relationship to those problems.

Our ability to reflect, listen and engage are essential to being fully awake.

The One Thing that Keeps Your Organization Stuck
4:15 PM ET- 5:00 PM ET (1:15pm PT-2:00pm PT)
We’ll look at the overarching structure of white supremacy and how it plays out in our nonprofits and creates a lack of trust. Using the texts of Rebecca Solnit’s On Silence, and others, we’ll find key points of intersectionality to draw our analysis from, as we see the violence inherent in the system. Then we will talk about deliberately building trust. This is a highly interactive session with break out rooms and a chance for you to share your story. We would love to have your voice and experience at this session.

You will learn:
> Recent research on the unequal nature of nonprofit work
> What are aspects of white supremacy culture at work?
> What are the antidotes to these in the nonprofit workplace?
> The Discipline of Hope
> Building trust deliberately at work
> How to build trust if it has been broken
